SparkBend

SparkBend is a conduit offset calculator app designed specifically for electricians. It helps you calculate the exact distance between bends and shrink values for different bend angles, making your conduit work faster and more accurate.

1. Enter the offset height (obstruction height) in inches
2. Select your desired bend angle (10°, 22.5°, 30°, 45°, or 60°)
3. The app automatically calculates:
   • Distance Between Bends: Where to mark your first and second bend points
   • Total Shrink: How much the conduit will shrink due to the bends
4. Use the visual preview to see the pipe shape before you bend

SparkBend supports the following standard bend angles:

• 10° - Multiplier: 6.0, Shrink: 1/16" per inch
• 22.5° - Multiplier: 2.6, Shrink: 3/16" per inch
• 30° - Multiplier: 2.0, Shrink: 1/4" per inch
• 45° - Multiplier: 1.414, Shrink: 3/8" per inch
• 60° - Multiplier: 1.154, Shrink: 1/2" per inch

The most commonly used angles (30° and 45°) are easily accessible via the segmented picker.

SparkBend uses standard trade multipliers and shrink values that are widely accepted in the electrical industry. The calculations are based on established formulas:

• Distance Between Bends = Offset Height × Multiplier
• Total Shrink = Offset Height × Shrink per Inch

Results are displayed with appropriate precision (whole numbers or 2 decimal places).
